Qapco has won the coveted “Best Nationalisation Friendly Initiative” Award at the fourth Annual GCC HR Excellence Awards 2012.
The award ceremony, which took place at the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort, Dubai, is an annual event which recognises excellence in human resource (HR) practices and has been designed to honour both individuals and organisations.
The month of May has been very successful for Qapco as this latest award closely follows the Energy and Industry Sector’s Annual Qatarisation Review meeting where the company was honoured to receive the Qatarisation Crystal for Supporting Qatarisation by HE Dr Mohammed bin Saleh al-Sada, minister of energy and industry and chairman & managing director of Qatar Petroleum.
Mohamed al-Mulla, chief executive officer, Qapco, spoke of his delight at this latest achievement: “The GCC HR Excellence Awards have been designed to honour and recognise premier organisations that continually demonstrate best practice procedures in the field of HR. It is therefore a proud moment for us to receive this award as it recognises all the hard work that has been achieved by the Qapco family throughout the past year. It also demonstrates our commitment to Qatarisation and in particular our support of Qatar’s National Vision 2030 which has placed the development of local talent as a top priority and remains for Qapco a key goal for the future.”
Receiving the award on behalf of Qapco, Rashid al-Sulaiti, chief administration officer, said: “As a part of its ongoing Qatarisation strategy, Qapco has introduced a broad range of initiatives to enhance awareness about the company and increase the number of Qatari employees, including an extensive programme of collaboration with the education sector.”
