In a first in the history of postal services in the country, Qatar Post (Q-Post) is launching a new service, Home Delivery, allowing all PO Box registered clients to have their post directly delivered to their homes.
The new service, which covers both letters and parcels, is available to all personal PO Box subscribers, with choice of delivery from one to six days a week, Q-Post explained in a statement.
Currently all customers collect their mail from the PO Box during working hours of Q-Post branches across the country. With Home Delivery, personal PO Box subscribers can now receive both their letters and parcels at their own convenience with a high degree of flexibility.
Home Delivery is part of a series of new products and services to be launched, following a modernisation of postal services. In 2015, the government launched an initiative to transform Qatar’s postal sector with the vision to provide 21st century postal services to each citizen’s and each business’ door step while fostering ICT use and integrating Qatar in global trade and supply chains.
“Q-Post is currently going through an intense transformation phase from a brand, products and services perspective, aimed at turning into a world-class postal operator by embracing the digital age, a modern economy and a changing society,” the company stated.
“With 27,000 registered personal PO Boxes and a rising demand, there is a strong growth potential for Home Delivery,” Hassan al-Otaibi, deputy director of Retails & Customers, Q-Post.
“This new service is the first in Qatar and marks the beginning of our new journey to boost our retail offering, in line with our transformation strategy,” he said while adding that more new products and services will be announced in the coming months.
PO box subscribers customers can apply directly at any Qatar Post office or online. More information could be had from Q-Post’s website: http://www.qpost.com.qa/
