Hyatt Plaza is launching a ‘Ramadan Al Khair’ awareness programme on Islamic culture, in association with its mall tenants and Qatar Charity, an official said yesterday.
As part of the programme, various spiritual and educational events will be held throughout the Holy Month.
A special tent, called ‘Al Baraha’ has been set up at the mall, just next to the food court, where various edutainment programmes and lectures have been lined up including competitions, plays, sketches, gift-distribution, Islamic songs, and stage shows, which will be organised during the weekends from 9.30-11.30pm.
“The edutainment programmes will be presented by Abdulrahman al-Harami, while bilingual lectures will be organised by Al Fanar Islamic Centre during weekdays,” the official said.
The mall will also create a play area next to ‘Al Baraha’ tent, as well as create visuals.
“These visuals will be placed in the mall walkways between Gates 1, 2, 4 and 5 in order for non-Muslims to learn and understand the Islamic pillars,” the official said.
Hyatt Plaza management will also be offering visitors with complimentary dates and tamarind juice served by ‘Musharabati’.
“We are honoured that over 60% of Hyatt Plaza tenants have participated in the ‘Ramadan Al Khair’ campaign by giving a percentage of their sales towards charity during the month of Ramadan,” the official said.
