Police Training Institute conducts workshop on Leadership and Self-defense

Doha, February 17 – The Ministry of Interior’s Police Training Institute has concluded two workshops on developing leadership skills, and engagement and self-defense, in collaboration with the U.K.’s College of Policing. A number of police officers from the different security departments took part in the leadership skills first workshop, which was held between February 3-14. The workshop aimed at providing trainees with knowledge and skills to develop their leadership skills, in addition to topics related to the development of personal skills, police knowledge and general knowledge for officers, problem-solving, the preparation of leaders who are capable of taking the right decision at the right time, and the procedures of the leadership skills assessment. As for the second workshop , it was on engagement and self-defense, and held between January 27 to February 14 with the participation of a number of individuals and civilians enrolled to the Qatari Police Sports Association. Such a workshop aimed at developing the understanding and skills of participants on self-defense and to train them to be able to teach self-defense styles in line with international standards in a fashion that is based on scenarios.
