The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs’ Department of Pilgrimage and Umrah announced that the permits of pilgrims from Qatar will be issued by Saudi Arabia. It will be through a new electronic system that Riyadh endorsed for the pilgrimage season of 1434H. The department urged Qatari pilgrims not to start pilgrimage procedures until they receive official approval from the department. It stresses that pilgrims must carry their permits as the kingdom has strict procedures at its entry ports to ensure the authenticity of pilgrims’ paperwork.
