The Court of First Instance in Qatar has imposed a fine of QR 200,000, along with a punishment of imprisonment for 3 years and deportation of an individual for possessing recreational drugs and for trading it.
As per Al Sharq, the case notes stated that the Public Prosecution accused a young man of possessing a dangerous psychotropic substance with the intent of trafficking and using it, and requested that he be punished under the Penal Code.
The facts indicate that when the authorities caught the accused and searched his car, they found that he possessed the prohibited substances and had sums of money from the sale of the drug, according to Al Sharq.
