Arsenal could miss out on another transfer target as Paris Saint-Germain are preparing an offer to sign Yohan Cabaye, Newcastle’s midfielder. The wealthy French club may be making an offer of £20m for Yohan Cabaye. Arsenal tabled a £12m bid on Sunday for the cultured midfielder. It’s rumoured that a delegation from Newcastle flew to Paris on yesterday to meet Cabaye’s agent and PSG officials. After Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa, Wenger is under pressure from the supporters to spend and to miss out again would be a bitter blow to them. Wenger has missed out on several players during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain signing for Napoli and Luiz Gustavo moving to Wolsfburg. Mike Ashley, Newcastle chairman and Alan Pardew, manager angered by the timing of Arsenal’s approach and their valuation, are virtually resigned to losing the France star. Several reports suggest Cabaye is keen on a move to Arsenal after not featuring in the 4-0 defeat to Manchester City on Monday night. Cabaye is one of five players Newcastle fought to keep 12 months ago following their Europa League qualification and is departure would be a blow. But sale of Cabaye could help the club, who has again faced criticism over their lack of transfer acitivity. Source:Qatar Chronicle
