The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs’ outdoor seasonal restrictions aimed at protecting those working in open areas during the summer will be in place from June 15 to August 31, according to a ministerial announcement.
The working hours in the morning session cannot exceed five hours or go beyond 11.30am. In the afternoon session, work cannot start before 3pm.
The restrictions are in line with Ministerial Decree No 16/2007. According to the guidelines, employers are told to openly display the time-table of their working hours at a place visible to labour inspectors at worksites. The inspectors should be able to easily see the time-table while visiting the sites.
The ministry has warned that establishments violating the decree would face closure for up to a month. Violations could be reported on the hotline, 44241101.
