Oryx Rotana, a five star luxury business hotel in Doha owned by Qatar Airways and under the supervision of Rotana Hotel Management Corporation PJSC, is set to join the rest of the world and celebrate Earth Hour on Saturday, 28 March 2015 at 8:30PM local time.
The hotel will turn off their lights in hotel exteriors, some of the back-of-the-house areas and guest room corridors whereas public areas’ and restaurants’ lights will be dimmed. Guests will be encouraged to participate by turning off the lights in their guestrooms.
A couple of initiatives are also being implemented by employees through a candlelight dinner at staff cafeteria, calculation of energy units saved during the event and an awareness video for this year’s Earth Hour.
Earth Hour is a global WWF climate change initiative for energy conservation started in 2007. Oryx Rotana is committed to making environmental protection as one of its top priorities. As an entity, they would like to emphasize not only their hospitality services but also environmental efforts.
