Ooredoo Wins Major Award for Online Business Films
Ooredoo Snags AVA Awards’ Gold for “Best Corporate Overview” for Online Short Film Series “Ooredoo Business: Let’s Talk,” Showcasing Business Solutions Ooredoo has won a major award for its recent series of online films that showcase its wide range of business products and services. The series of short films called “Ooredoo Business: Let’s Talk” has won the AVA Awards’ gold prize in the category “Best Corporate Overview.” Judges praised Ooredoo’s videos for using their own in-house experts – and not actors – to talk about real-life examples of how the company’s products and services nurture the growth of businesses of all sizes. In the films, Ooredoo emphasises its support for small- and medium-sized enterprises, which are forecast to grow as Qatar transitions to a knowledge-based economy, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. Ooredoo’s business films, which were made throughout 2012, also received notations for their direction, storyline and editing. The AVA Awards are an international competition that recognises the outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design and production of media and evolving digital communication. In total, there were 2,000 entries across more than 240 categories in the fields of digital, television and radio. Administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, the AVA Awards are judged by industry professionals who look for work that exceeds a high standard of excellence and serves as a benchmark for the industry. Ooredoo offers a wide variety of business products and services, including Business Centres, fixed-line and mobile calls and Internet, and managed and hosted solutions like the Ooredoo Cloud, Ooredoo Data Centre and Office-in-a-Box. These short films also demonstrate another way that the company is using new media to interact with customers. Ooredoo already has a significant presence on social media networks like Facebook, with more than 240,000 “likes”; Twitter, with more than 43,000 followers; YouTube, with more than 10,000 total views; and Instagram, with more than 3,400 followers.
