Ooredoo has today announced that it will once again sponsor the Qatar Diabetes Association ‘Al-Bawasil Camp’ for children with diabetes in 2017.

The 2017 camp, which is held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, is the seventeenth event of its kind and will host approximately 75 children from Qatar, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

In previous years, Ooredoo has helped support the event by providing entertainment through its cheeky mascots the Alrabaa, or by advertising the great work the camp does to teach children how to cope with diabetes and reduce the negative repercussions diabetes might bring.

This year, Ooredoo has been named the Official Telecommunication Sponsors of the event and will be supporting the important initiative from 28 January – 2 February 2017.

Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director Community & Public Relations, Ooredoo said: “Ooredoo believes in enabling children to grow to the best of their ability, which is why we are proud to support the ‘Al-Bawasil Camp’ once again to help educate children on how to deal and treat their illness. The goal of the camp however is not just about education, but to enable these children a chance to live a normal life and enjoy a week of fun – something Ooredoo tries to bring Qatar through our sponsorships and events often.”

The camp consists of a set of events and activities, education and entertainment over a full week to help educate children how to live with their condition. Participants are offered interactive programmes, including fun and simple medical workshops.

This sponsorship is part of Ooredoo’s CSR strategy which places health as one of the company’s main pillars of interest. For more information about Ooredoo visit Ooredoo.qa.
