The General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior announced yesterday the fourth public online auction of some fancy car plates. The auction will be done through Metrash 2 for three days. It starts today from 12 noon to Thursday 10pm, and is expected to attract a large number of people.
As per rules, bidding will start from QR100,000 and participants are required to make a deposit of QR20,000 as insurance, the Ministry of Interior said yesterday on its official Facebook account.
The person who wins the bid should pay the bidding value within two working days, failure to pay within the period would result in losing the deposit of QR20,000 and the Department has the right to sell the fancy number plate to the next highest bidder. Last year, the highest single bid was for QR950,000 for unique licence plate 377773, for which the minimum bidding amount was QR160,000, while for other numbers, bidding amounts ranged from QR250,000 to QR750,000.
