One of biggest ships in the world carrying 12 giant cranes will enter Hamad Port today.
The ship from China is carrying four huge cranes while eight are small in size, Al Sharq reports.
The port was filled with water 10 months ahead of its schedule to allow the ship to dock at the port.
The ship was earlier planned to unload the cranes at Jabal Ali Port in the UAE from where the machines would be transported through small ships to Qatar.
Flooding of Hamad Port ahead of schedule has made it possible for the ship to dock there, which is a major achievement for the Ministry of Transport and companies involved in construction of the port.
Work on the port is expected to finish ahead of schedule.
