The InterContinental Doha held the opening night of its Octoberfest celebrations on Tuesday, providing guests with an opportunity to try German cuisine while listening to traditional German music in a specially-erected tent. The tent can hold more than 700 people and is fully booked for today and tomorrow evenings, according to the assistant food and beverage manager, Eva Wallbruch, who explained that the event, which started on Tuesday, will continue until Saturday. The food at the buffet includes a wide selection of traditional German fare, including Saurkraut, various sausages and desserts such as Apple Strudel. And the band at the event provides the perfect accompaniment to the cuisine, playing a large repertoire of traditional German songs, which will have guests tapping their toes, clapping their hands and even dancing on the benches. The band provides much more than musical entertainment, and their interaction with the crowd, encouraging them to sing along and learn a number of German dance moves, is another highlight. http://gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=318971&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16
