The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ will temporarily close 3.5km of the northbound lanes on Al Shamal Road between Al Khor Interchange and Umm Esmira Interchange in order to complete the installation of the last remaining signage gantry of the Orbital Road.
The diversion, designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, will be implemented on Friday, (August 24) and will be in place from 4am to 8am (four hours).
Road users travelling northbound along Al Shamal Road heading to Al Ruwais will be required to exit at Al Khor Interchange and take the second exit towards Al Mazrouah Road, go straight through Al Mazrouah roundabout then keep right and take the slip road signposted “Al Ruwais”. Follow the road for 500m then take the right exit loop at Umm Esmaira Interchange back onto Al Shamal Road and continue their journey to Al Ruwais.
The Public Works Authority will install the new guiding signage, and has urged all road users to abide by the reduced speed limit at 80 kph and follow the new signs for their safety.
