The Al Raya newspaper reported on 23 August 2022 on the many features of North West Bay Beach.
As per the report, the beach which is 1.5 km in length is divided into 3 main parts, inclusive of a public beach and 12 private beaches owned by hotels.
The beach is also expected to have a celebration site for fans during the World Cup 2022. The site will include marine sports activities and beach bathing areas. It will also have a designated entrance and will have many eateries. Facilities like changing rooms and showers will also be available.
The report also stated that there will also be designated areas for walking, running and cycling.
A total of 305 parking lots will be available, inclusive of 36 spaces designed for clergy, and 60 parking spaces for bicycles.
Additionally, the beach will have two play areas for children and will be providing WIFI throughout the day.
The aim of the North West Bay Beach project is to keep the business district of West Bay active during the evening hours and to provide for the employees of the highly commercial area.
Aside from the eateries within the celebration site, there will be other cafés along the beach offering sea views. Changing rooms and prayer rooms will also be available for beachgoers.
