Consolidated Gulf Company (CGC), the Nokia associate in Qatar has launched the Nokia 603 – a colourful and affordable smartphone equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. The first Nokia phone with the Symbian Belle operating system comes preloaded with the latest applications, including providing local consumers the benefits of NFC such as pairing devices, sharing information and tag reading content from smart posters in the country. The model offers a seamless, compact design that makes the most of the durable 3.5 inch ClearBlack, scratch-resistant display, optimised for use in sunlight. It comes preloaded with maps, the latest social networking games and apps, and the ability to capture, edit and share photographs, enabled by fast graphics processor in the device. Alongside the Nokia 603, the Nokia Luna Bluetooth headset completes the NFC-enabled easy pairing experience in an affordable package. “The NFC functionality of the Nokia 603 will certainly enable consumers to experience the next level of content sharing opportunities in the country,” Anil Mahajan, chief operating officer, CGC, said. “Whatever the price-point, our aim is to ensure all consumers in Qatar are better connected and experience cutting-edge features, like the ability to tap to ‘pair and share’ with NFC technology,” Tom Farrell, general manger for Nokia Lower Gulf, said.
