The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) has resumed its awareness campaign 'Together We Work, You Have A Right You Have A Duty' which comes within the framework of implementing the committee's work strategy aimed at enhancing awareness of workers' rights and duties, and spreading a culture of human rights in general.
The campaign, which deals with the axes of "health, working hours, rest times, adequate housing, and occupational safety", was halted last January as part of the precautionary measures taken in light of the increasing cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19).
In this context, the Head of the Public Relations Unit of the National Human Rights Committee Abdullah Ali Al Mahmoud, stressed in statements the importance of this campaign, which targets an important segment of society that plays a major role in advancing the development process in the country, whether employers or workers, noting that from this standpoint, the National Human Rights Committee attaches great importance to the issues of workers and employers alike, with the aim of consolidating human rights principles, translating them on the ground in various fields of work, and contributing to overcoming all obstacles that prevent the various parties from enjoying full and undiminished rights.
Al Mahmoud pointed out that the campaign focuses on important axes that include all aspects related to employers and workers, which will be introduced and discussed by specialists, noting that the Qatari labor law guarantees all professional and social rights for workers, as well as the rights of employers in accordance with a contractual relationship between the two parties.
NHRC in cooperation with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), will also organize educational and awareness-raising events in health centers for workers managed by QRCS.
