South Indian restaurant group Anjappar Chettinadu has started its Doha operations on Gulf Street, near Gulf Paradise Hotel. The chain has extensive operations spread over the UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, the US and UK among other countries. In Qatar, the operations are run by Barakat Group, sponsored by Khalid Abdulla al-Mulla. The local business is held under the stewardship of director Gopi Varadhan. At a briefing held yesterday, the group promoters A Kandaswamy and A Rangaswamy hoped the Doha outlet would be able to effectively meet the food requirements of different communities residing in the State of Qatar. Along with traditional Chettinadu dishes, the Doha restaurant will also offer North Indian, Tandoori, and Chinese dishes, said its owners. They said the Doha restaurant can accomodate a minimum of 200 customers at one time. It also offers free home delivery and outdoor catering.
