After Sri Lanka last October, two more Qatar Visa Centre (QVC) branches are set to be opened in Bangladesh and Pakistan, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced.
The first QVC branch was inaugurated in Colombo 12th of October as part of efforts undertaken to facilitate and streamline procedures for bringing expatriates to work.

According to the information available on the Facebook page of the ministry, the second QVC will be opened in Bangladesh today (December 11) and another in Pakistan on December 19.
In this regard, the Visa Support Services Department has organised an introductory seminar for both the Bangladesh (December 9) and the Pakistan (Dec 10) communities in Qatar and for those companies that employ a large number of workers from these two South Asian countries.
The visa centres, which comes as part of the first phase of the fingerprinting and biometrics project, will facilitate medical examination and signing of contracts for the expatriate workers.
QVC services also aim to ensure the speedy completion of expatriate workers’ transactions so that they can start work immediately after entering Qatar, and avoid cases of workers returning to their home country if found that they are not fit for the role for which they are recruited, according to a statement from the Ministry.
Furthermore, expatriates will be able to review and sign their employment contracts while they are still in their home country.
