The Report: Qatar 2008, which claims to be the most extensive, independent, unbiased and accurate intelligence resource on Qatar, will be published this month. "The book will be published in June 2008," Abby Lindenberg (pictured), Country Manager of Oxford Business Group (OBG), the publishers, told The Peninsula. OBG is a global publishing, research and consultancy firm. The book is being produced by a team of six OBG analysts based in Doha for the past six months. The analysts conducted some 200 interviews with leading figures from the political and economic fields. "The Report: Qatar 2008 will be the most comprehensive English-language study on the Qatari economy touching upon hot topics in energy, construction and real estate, banking, capital markets, sports and more, with VIP interviews and viewpoints of politicians and business leaders from around the world," said Lindenberg. "The Report is a country intelligence guide for foreign investors and local businessmen alike," she added. Those interviewed for the report include a selection of both international and national figures. "Some of our top VIP interviewees include the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani, the Chairman of Chime Communications, Lord Timothy Bell, and former US Secretary of Energy, Edward Spencer Abraham, just to name a few," she said. Lindenberg believes the OBG's biggest advantage is its historic and regional expertise. "Qatar's growth is among the highest year-on-year for any economy in the world. Just a short time ago, the current economy was just an inspiration and today it is a reality and the future looks even brighter," she remarked. "The government is forward-looking in diversifying the economy to cushion it from a volatile energy market and to strengthen it to stand strong when the day comes that the natural oil and gas resources are depleted. The mindset of Qatar's leadership is on planning and preparing for the future and the solutions to manage the challenges are becoming readily available year by year." The 250-page book, which will include a new chapter on the environment, can be ordered from (OBG)'s website www.oxfordbusinessgroup.com The Fact Book also references iLoveQatar.net!
