Major Abdullah Khalifa Al-Mohannadi, Director of the Visa Support Services Department stated, "Through this project, an expatriate worker will be able to complete the fingerprint, biometric data processing, medical examination and sign the work contract from his home country."

He explained the process of bringing in the expatriate workers from abroad will be able to complete all procedure electronically via MOI website to save time and effort through one channel.

The project is being implemented in the first phase in 8 countries (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Tunisia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Indonesia) and Sri Lanka will be the first country.

The process starts with an application at http://www.moi.gov.qa by the employer followed by MOI’s approval. Then worker can book an appointment via http://uat.qatarvisacntre.com, complete biometric, medical and work contract procedure at the service centre in his home country.

The new system will protect the rights of the workers and employers by documenting the employment contracts signed between the parties before their arrival to Qatar and ensures both the parties' compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
