A spontaneous walk along the Instagrammable Corniche whatever time it is of the day is one of the best activities to get yourself into when you're in Qatar but we can't help but wonder... is reaching Point A to Point B considered a 'walk in the park' in this part of the globe?
We're answering that question (and a few more sub-topics on safety and security) with this article so if you're keen enough to mark yourself unharmed whenever you head out either to get some fresh air or buy something from the local grocery store, then make sure to scroll all the way down as we've prepared a helpful and comprehensive walking guide—in the form of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) format—just for you!
Definitely, yes. The capital city of the 2022 FIFA World Cup host country owns one of the prettiest Magic Hour views EVER (from 4:30 to 5PM) and a couple of hours of walking is always a good idea especially during the colder months (November to March).
Once it gets dark, there's nothing to be worried about as long as you make yourself visible in a crowded space. Be mindful of desert areas though, there are some reports claiming 'dog attack' incidents involving mainly blue collar workers.
Our answer on this is ALWAYS.
Rest assured that Doha is an absolutely safe place for women. But, as a solo female resident or traveler, you got to be cautious, wherever in the world you may be.
Women walking alone might be approached or may be the object of curiosity. Just be polite and continue on your way. The locals are well-educated and extremely nice to tourists, whom they view as their own guests.
One British expat wrote on a travel thread: "Doha is my second home as I lived here for 16 years and it's a very safe place for solo women travellers as you can explore the city after sundown and even during late nights."
Our top picks would be the usual ones: the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), the nearby MIA Park (which features a seasonal bazaar), Souq Waqif, and the sinfully-satisfying Doha Corniche stretch.
The Katara Cultural Village, another great spot to walk around, is the focal point for arts and culture in Doha and has art galleries, an amphitheatre for opera, drama and concerts performance as well as restaurants and a beach and water sports facilities. If you can spare an hour at least, it would be worth visiting.
Additional things that you can do are ride a 20-minute Dhow cruise in the Corniche, dine in at any traditional or international restaurant at Souq Waqif, or simply just strap a camera around your body and do street photography along the way.

There isn't any. You can literally walk around for as long as you want. But if you're eyeing to have a side trip in indoor museums such as the MIA or the ones at Katara, make sure to keep yourself aware of the vicinity timings.

Why not?! As the bustling capital is densely packed, almost every iconic landmark and shopping mall is accessible either by foot or thru public transportation. A tourist who only has limited time to spend in the futuristic metropolis of Doha will be surprised to know that he can tour the whole place in as quick as a half day.

Mowasalat, Doha's national fleet of taxis, is considered 100% safe as they're everywhere in Qatar—regardless of the time of day! While residents are already well-acquainted with all the basic do's and don'ts when riding such, it's still advisable for tourists to try riding one of these turquoise sedan cars to have a real feel of Qatar.
Please be well-guided that tipping is not a must for taxis. For more information about taxis in Qatar, click HERE.

The continuous efforts of the Ministry of Interior in its vision of achieving maximum security and stability in society and protecting lives and property, in accordance with the vision 2030, is very well taken into consideration as it was recently announced that Qatar has retained its global distinction as the safest country in the Arab region and globally by winning first place in terms of safety and security among 118 countries, according to the annual report of the crime index 2019 issued by 'Numbeo'—the worlds largest database of user contributed data about cities and countries worldwide.
