In a bid to enter the Guinness World Records book, Mowasalat ran its large fleet of buses on the Al Wakra-Mesaieed road yesterday. To the surprise of motorists, more than 300 buses of the company ran in a line in the morning, covering a distance of five kilometres. Moving at a speed of 20km per hour, the vehicles kept a distance of 10 metres from each other, creating a six-kilometre-long line of buses. The buses, bearing messages from different ministries, started moving at 7am in the presence of top Mowasalat officials, including Chairman Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, and the Guinness team. Sources in Mowasalat said yesterday’s event was a trial run ahead of the actual record attempt slated to be made by the month-end. The date for the record attempt is expected to be announced soon. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=August2009&file=Local_News2009081581032.xml
