Mowasalat Karwa scored some green points yesterday when the public transport company announced its new E-recruitment system as a part of its Qatarisation policy at a press conference held at Chopsticks Restaurant, Grand Regency Hotel. The technology-based recruitment system built-in on the company's website www.mowasalat.com where it can be accessed at any given time, 24/7, offers potential candidates the facility to apply for jobs as well as their ability to track their applications. "It is tremendously user friendly and precise," said Issa Ali, Recruitment Manager. "It is a very efficient system, fast and eliminates the clutter of paper work. Computer and Internet literacy is very high among job hunters, and using our new e-Recruitment System bridges the gap and speeds up the process whether the applicant is here in Qatar, just within GCC or elsewhere in the world. Looking on both perspectives as an employer and as a job seeker, the potentials of using this system saves time and money since both are doing this operation electronically and need not to be physically present," he added. In his presentation Ali said, prospective candidates can upload their CVs before they submit the application online. After they upload their request, they receive two emails in their personal account. The first one is the confirmation email, where candidates get to know whether their application fits the job description or not. The second email is the tracking number where they get the automatic reply. "It speeds up the process if you are applying for a job as compared to hand-carrying your CV and physically battling your way to reach the office of the company, here you basically don't have to leave your computer at home or in an Internet caf by just conveniently clicking. This exciting new feature is the realization of the concept we developed a few years back," said Ahmed Al Ansari, Business Development Director. Priority will be given to Qatari Nationals and then to applicants born in Qatar. Non-Qatari candidates will be selected based on the years of experience. All ideal applicants will have to undertake six-week training programme including English language and computer skills. The Pen
