We've reported yesterday that starting July 15, 2018, all taxi booking charges as well as technology service charges will be waived. The announcement, which was made by Mowasalat on their Twitter account, includes the 5 QR telephone booking charge within Doha city per trip, and the 8 QR booking charge to Hamad International Airport.
While Karwa taxi customers can book taxis round-the-clock through the Karwa App and by simply calling Mowasalat's Unified Call Center, majority still hails cabs on the road—despite the severe weather.
Mowasalat has taken the decision to scrap the additional charges based on market needs, and to provide competitive fares to taxi users.
In a circular released by Mowasalat today, they enumerated a number of convincing reasons why pedestrians who use public transport in Doha should stick to Karwa's services. Here are some of them:
