Qatar is in the record books once again with the world’s largest Monopoly game board being unveiled at the Doha Trade Fair at the Exhibition Centre yesterday. Talal Omar, an official from the Guinness World Records, confirmed that the board’s dimensions of 14.7m by 14.7m, giving it a surface area of 216sq. m, were larger than the previous record of 144sq. m, held by Germany. In order for the record to be official the board must be used to play at least one game of Monopoly, and four teams of enthusiastic children and parents were chosen from the audience to take part.
