The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has set up the hotline 234 2000 to assist people who are having difficulty registering their National Address online. Anyone facing any kind of technical problems can call the hotline to get assistance and support to facilitate their registration of the National Address, according to Hukoomi.
In April, MOI announced that the number of registered users in the National Address exceeded one million, since the law was activated in January 2020. The Ministry also called for initiating the registration of the National Address through MOI electronic systems, pointing out that it's available for citizens and residents on Metrash 2 mobile app, and the MOI website.
According to the Law No. 24 of 2017 on the National Address, every citizen and resident in the country is obliged to register a permanent national address with the official authorities in Qatar through the Metrash 2 before 26 July 2020, otherwise they will have to pay a fine. The law was issued for keeping up with the economic and social developments, the legislative renaissance and the advanced security services witnessed by Qatar.
