Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) participates in the QITCOM 2012 Exhibition and Conference that was inaugurated by the Minister of Trade and Business HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdul Azeez Al Thani on Monday. Many leading companies in IT and communication sector attend the exhibition that scheduled to conclude on Wednesday. This year’s exhibition is focused on future vision of participating entities in this field. The Ministry of Interior is represented by the pavilion of the information systems Department which displays some advanced equipments and systems such as Metrash (2) service, geographical directory, Civil Defense permit system and self kiosk machines. Many services such as obtaining smart electronic cards are can be done thru this. The assistant director of Information Systems Department at the Ministry Colonel Abdul Rahman Al-Maliki said that MoI participates in QITCOM 2012 to display the excellent works and services successfully achieved by the ministry in the field. He added that the most important system displayed is Metrash (2) service that offers a range of services for nationals and expatriates using their mobile phones. Many services such obtaining exit permits on personal sponsorship, exit permits for labors working in companies, enquiring and paying traffic fines, knowing the details of official documents and much more can be completed thru this service. The pavilion also shows systems that displays geographical map in MoI systems for security patrols so that they can reach the accident place at the earliest. Geographical directory system that shows the coordinates of each place in Qatar is also shown in the pavilion. Moreover, the visitors whether they are nationals or expatriates, can obtain smart ID cards from the pavilion. E-gate systems also introduced to the visitors. A good number of visitors visited MoI pavilion to know about the services offered by the Ministry and understand the advanced equipments used by the ministry.
