Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) today at QITCOM 2019 – the country’s premier technology trade show – announced its partnership with Microsoft on a comprehensive digital transformation programme that will modernise its infrastructure and enable the ministry to achieve more.

“We find ourselves on the verge of remarkable change,” said Abdulla Ahmad Al-Ali, Director Information technology, at Ministry of Commerce and Industry. “We can already see that so much of our daily routine has been transformed by technology. To play our part in what is to come, and to deliver our nation the tools it needs to succeed and further the promise of Vision 2030, the ministry has partnered with Microsoft on optimising our internal operations, enhancing our responsiveness and agility, and boosting our innovation capabilities.”

MOCI has adopted the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform & Dynamics 365 to attain high availability for its mission-critical workloads, transform its business process & citizen services. Microsoft will support the ministry in the digital transformation of its infrastructure and the migration of its data centre to the trusted, secure and intelligent Azure Cloud, as well as provisioning high-availability and disaster-recovery-as-a-service capabilities.

“The Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry has taken a leap forward in its journey by placing trust in the secure, versatile, and intelligent Microsoft Cloud to transform services and optimize operations.” Said Lana Khalaf, Country Manager, Microsoft Qatar. “Our partnership reflects our commitment to the future of Qatar, as we continue delivering our innovations to empower the ministry in its efforts to build a diversified economic landscape - that enables a competitive business environment and sustained development in the country.”
