Health Control Department of Doha Municipality seized large quantities of frozen fish of unknown origin without a label and unfit for human consumption in the warehouses of a company in the Industrial Area.
The necessary legal measures were taken regarding the incident and a violation report was issued and the entire seized quantities were immediately destroyed.
Inspectors of the department, with the participation of the competent authorities at the Ministry of Interior, carried out a number of raids on places of preparation, storage, and packaging of foodstuffs in unsanitary conditions, packing hot meals in bags that do not conform to standard specifications and using expired foodstuffs, away from the eyes of oversight and without a license.
In October of 2021, the department’s inspectors carried out 1,650 inspection tours, found 55 violations, issued and implemented 7 administrative closure decisions, and 65 periodic samples were withdrawn from various food establishments to ensure their suitability for human consumption.
