The Ministry of Municipality and Environment's Department of Fish Resources, in cooperation with the Department of Protection and Wildlife, released 64,000 young barley fish (43,000 blue seals, 21,000 with ammunition), bringing the total of fish been released back into the waters since the beginning of the initiative to 236,000, as mentioned on their Twitter account:

This initiative is part of the Aquaculture Research Centre's plan to increase the country's fish stock, and ensures that environmental and scientific specifications are in place, and proper standards and procedures are followed that ensure that the Qatari waters the fish are being released into are appropriate for the growth, nutrition and their protection from predators (QNA).
