The Ministry of Labor organized Sunday a meeting with labor attaches at the embassies of labor-sending countries, and a number of heads and representatives of labor communities in the country, aiming at enhancing and developing the joint cooperation.
The meeting highlighted the developments in the work environment in the State of Qatar, the latest updates in the labor law with regard to changing the employer and raising the minimum wage, in addition to the continuous efforts made by the Ministry to raise awareness among workers on various issues, and its periodic inspection campaigns at work and accommodation sites in order to introduce the Ministry's activities and tasks, and to ensure the implementation of the Labor Law.
The meeting affirmed continued cooperation and coordination, and the organization of more periodic meetings between representatives of the Ministry and representatives of labor communities and attaches for cooperation and more coordination in the interest of workers and employers.
The labor attaches and representatives of the labor communities praised the role of the Ministry of Labor in resolving labor disputes and complaints, stressing their keenness to continue cooperation and coordination with the Ministry.
