In a move to protect the real estate market from intrusion of outsiders into brokerage profession, the Ministry of Justice has given the real estate brokerage offices six months to meet the necessary requirement reported Qatar Tribune. The ministry will start monitoring the offices and ensure the implementation of the requirements established by the law. The ministry has authorised some of its employees, who are responsible for the real estate mediation affairs by virtue of a decision by the Attorney General, the status of law enforcement officers to control and prove the crimes that are in violation of Law No. 22 of 2017 concerning real estate brokerage. As per the law, carrying out real estate brokerage work without a licence is a serious violation. A source in the ministry said they will start work soon to protect the real estate market. He said the ministry will announce the names of the licensed real estate brokerage. The rules of practicing the profession of real estate brokerage have been developed in a way that protects the real estate market from all forms of speculations and sub-brokerage.
