Ministry of Commerce and Industry launches logo designing competition for Qatari products, winner to be awarded QR 25,000

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), as part of its efforts to inculcate a culture of innovation and to promote local products, announced the launch of a competition for the best ‘Qatari Product’ logo design.

The Ministry also stated the terms that the design logo should be modern and reflect an association with Qatar.

The logo should also be modern, innovative and non-traditional. The participant should be a citizen or resident of Qatar. The design should be original and the designer should not have submitted it in other competitions.

The logo should not feature any promotional materials for any party. The Ministry also stated that the logo must be clear even when reduced to 2 cm* 2 cm and that the colour of Qatar's flag, Al-Adaam, should be used in the logo design.

The expression ‘Qatari Product’ should be incorporated into the logo in both Arabic and English and the logo must be presented in a colour copy and shall include specific measurements and colour codes in addition to a fully black and white copy.

The logo should also remain valid if presented in black and white and must be submitted in the formats like Ai, PDF, EPS, PSD and PNG.

Design samples must be submitted applying the logo on different products and the participant can submit more than one logo. The winning contestant shall agree that ‘the logo’ will become the exclusive property of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The Ministry also mentioned that a Qatari product is any product manufactured in Qatar and will award the winner a QR 25,000 award.

The Ministry said all designs shall be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to the President of the Tenders and Auctions Committee and then delivered to the Financial and Administrative Affairs Department (Procurement Department) at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Lusail city, Tower A, fourth floor, during official working hours, by December 10, 2020.
