The Ministry of Municipality and Environment represented by the Agricultural Affairs Department has completed the implementation of its program to distribute local dates supplied to it from registered Qatari farms to charitable societies in the country, which will then be distributed to the needy inside and outside Qatar.
The total quantity of dates delivered in four batches to Qatar Charity, Qatar Red Crescent Society and Hifz Alnaema Center preserved 570 tons, including 340 tons for the third and fourth batches, and 230 tons for the first and second batches.
The date distribution project started in 2006 and aims to motivate Qatari farmers to expand the production of local dates.
