The Ministry of Public Health released a statement regarding news of 'Lai White Curry' instant noodles originating from Malaysia and 'Indomie Ayam Spesial' instant noodles originating from Indonesia being withdrawn in other countries due to high levels of ethylene oxide.
The Ministry confirms that these products have not been imported into Qatar, and similar products are subject to technical control procedures at the port of arrival, which include virtual inspection and laboratory analysis.
The Ministry has also released a circular to the local market that an analysis certificate proving that any shipment of instant noodles is free of ethylene oxide, regardless of the country of origin, is required. The Ministry notes that these measures are valid until further notice.
