In a tweet, the Ministry of Interior announced that the Search and Follow-up Department of the General Directorate of Passports managed to arrest several people who specialized in smuggling, harbouring and employing female workers.
According to the details, information was received about a house where smuggling operations occur and shelter workers. After obtaining the necessary permissions, the house was raided, and 19 suspects of both sexes were arrested inside it.
Confronting the defendants, they confessed to the charges attributed to them, which varied between sheltering, covering up the violating employment, and violating the purpose of residence, in addition to reports of leaving work and loose employment. Accordingly, the accused were referred to the competent authorities to take the procedures followed in this regard.
The competent authorities of the Ministry of Interior call on the public not to deal with these groups of workers who violate labour laws to avoid any legal accountability and to report them in case of suspicion through the Metrash2 application.
