Ministry announces registration and fees for winter camping season in Qatar

Ministry of Municipality and Environment has announced the registration process for the winter camping season 2020-2021 which will start on October 11. According to MME, interested candidates can submit their applications through government service centers or through the Ministry website http://mme.gov.qa or Aoun application.

The announcement was made during a press conference by the Protection and Wildlife Department held at the Headquarters of the Ministry today.

The registration process will be done in three phases.

First phase

Registration begins in the first phase on October 11th and camping on the 13th of the same month for the areas of:

  • Al Shamal
  • Al Ghashamiyah
  • Sealine
  • Ras Matbakh
  • Arida
  • Zekreet
  • Al Naqian
  • Al Kharra
  • Ashiraj
  • Umm Al Maa

Second phase

Registration will be on October 14 and camping on October 16 for the areas of:

  • Al-Reem Reserve
  • Al-Marwah
  • Al-Mazroa
  • Umm Al-Aafa'i
  • Al-Hashem
  • Al-Zubarah
  • Al-Udeid
  • Al Khuraij South
  • Abu Samra
  • Abu Zahlof

Third phase

Registration on October 18 and camping on October 20 for the areas:

  • Rawdat Rashid
  • Rawdat Aisha
  • Al Khor
  • Al Waab
  • Imgaitna
  • Al Ghariya
  • Al Mufair
  • Ras Al Nouf
  • Al Otouryah
  • Al Sane'ah
  • Al Rees West

Camping fees

Assistant of the Director of the Department of Protection and Wildlife Talib Khalid Al-Shahwani, A security deposit of QR10,000 has to be paid which will be refundable once the season ends after the inspection is carried out according to the requirements. Apart from this, a non-refundable fee of QR3,000 is levied as rent for the area. For places that are listed as coastal or as a natural reserve, a fee of QR10,000 will be charged.

Safety measures

He explained that the Ministry has coordinated and cooperated with all concerned government agencies regarding the procedures and requirements to ensure security, safety and health, to ensure the safety of the campers, and to protect and preserve the environment during the camping season, expressing his hope that all campers will cooperate to preserve the environment and preserve its resources.

Al-Shahwani reviewed the preparations and equipment that have been taken, the controls and conditions for this season's camping on land, on the coasts, and on the reserves, as well as the security and safety instructions that must be adhered to ensure an ideal, safe and enjoyable camping season for all, noting that this season the 'camp site permit amendment service' has been canceled.
