As per an announcement made in a tweet on 28 April 2022 by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs - Awqaf, the sighting of the Shawwal moon is to be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

The Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has called upon all Muslims in the State of Qatar to sight the crescent moon of Shawwal on Saturday evening, April 30, 2022, 29th Ramadan 1443 AH.
In a statement today, the Committee asked the witnesses to head to the Committee's headquarters in the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs' building in Al Dafna to report their testimony. The Committee will meet immediately after the Maghreb prayer.
