Milipol Qatar 2018

Milipol Qatar is all set to kick off its 12th edition on October 29, 2018 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). To be held under the patronage of H.H the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the three-day show which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H.E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, has already attracted leading industry players from across the globe who will showcase their latest innovations in the world of safety & security. The leading international exhibition, dedicated to homeland security and Civil Defence in the Middle East region 2018, will set the agenda for internal security and public safety with leading international specialists bringing new products & solutions, across a range of industries. The press conference held to announce the opening of the event was attended by Major General Nasser Bin Fahad Al-Thani, President, Milipol Qatar Committee, Michael Weatherseed, IT & Security Business Unit Director/Milipol Events Director, Brg. Saud Rashid Al Shafi, Member of Milipol Qatar Committee and Lt. Col. Nasser Al Othaibi, member of Milipol Qatar. This year the exhibition has confirmed 219 exhibitors from 24 countries. Defence specialists from Qatar, France, Turkey, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Spain, Morocco, UK, and USA, as well as 7 new countries that include Greece, India, Latvia, Morocco, Russia, Slovenia and Switzerland will be bringing in their innovations to Qatar in various fields such as public security, defence solutions and equipment, telecom security and technologies, firefighting, radiation detection, emergency equipment, law enforcement products, communications software, airports security systems and more. Organized by the Ministry of Interior (MOI) of the State of Qatar and the French-based Comexposium Security, Milipol Qatar will include five country pavilions – including UK, Germany, Italy, France and North America with 90 exhibitors from Qatar– with a 30% space bigger than in 2016.

As part of its continuous evolution to provide the best experience for exhibitors, visitors, buyers and
industry professionals, Milipol Qatar 2018 has incorporated the Civil Defence Exhibition and Conference.
The collaboration of the two shows has resulted in the region’s leading Homeland Security and Civil
defence event, bringing together key global civil defence players, for a series of focused conference
sessions and agenda-setting panel discussions on the latest and emerging civil defence trends and best practices.
Some of the interesting topics include Cyber Security & Cyberthreats, Civil Defence and Large Events Security Management. Dignitaries such as Ljupcho Joshevski, Head of Cybersecurity Systems Engineering – Global Security Sales Organization - Middle East & Africa, Cisco; Eng. Khalid N. SADIQ AL-HASHMI, Assistant under Secretary, Cyber Security Dept. - Ministry of Transport & Communications, State of Qatar; and Christophe MIGNOT, Special advisor - International coordination of the civil defence training offer, DGSCGC (French Ministry of the Interior - French General Directorate for Civil Protection and Crisis Management); will be offering their analytical insights during these sessions. Seminar on Large event security management is scheduled on the last day, which will be chaired by Loïc GUEZO, Southern Europe Cybersecurity Strategist and Director, Trend Micro. Loïc Guézo is also member of the civilian reserve of the French Police Nationale, trusted advisor for cyberthreats. Speakers from The Supreme Committee - 2022 FIFA World Cup will be offering their expertise & experience in managing such a large-scale event.
