The Disney superstars make their first and only public appearance at Landmark Mall prior to the show’s official opening at QNCC The stars of the magical Disney On Ice show, Mickey and Minnie Mouse along with their famous Disney friends Goofy, Pluto, Donald and Daisy Duck, arrived in Qatar at the weekend ahead of what is expected to be an unforgettable few days for children of all ages. The cast of 100 Years of Magic are preparing to skate out on to the ice for the first time at the Qatar National Convention Centre for 8 incredible shows from June 13-16. Before all the excitement begins, Mickey and Minnie Mouse surprised youngsters last night at Landmark Mall where hundreds of children queued to meet their favourite Disney characters. In a fun and entertaining “Meet & Greet”, children were thrilled to have their pictures taken with their favourite Disney characters. The colourful and lively event also featured award-winning Disney music, face painting and exclusive autograph cards signed by the Disney superstars. Ms Brenda Paradela waited in the queue alongside her eight -year-old son Alexandre to catch a glimpse of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. She said, “My son is so excited to meet his favourite Disney characters, it is not often that you get to see the real Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Ms Paradela added, “Since we found out about Disney On Ice coming to Doha, we wasted no time in purchasing tickets for all of our friends and family. It is not often that these kinds of events come to Doha and we knew tickets would sell quickly. We can’t wait!” Landmark Mall’s Manager, Mr Walid Khoury, said, “We are delighted to be part of the Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic celebration. The Landmark event was very different to anything we have ever hosted before and proved to be a real triumph. It was an exciting experience for Disney fans of all ages and the perfect lead up to the show. We hope to welcome Mickey and Minnie Mouse back to Landmark alongside their friends for future events.” With the legendary show, Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic, fast approaching 17 crew members, five staff members, 31 concessions members and 47 performers have arrived in Qatar and are preparing for a dazzling performance. After over 1,200 rehearsal hours, the magnificent skaters will reflect Emmy® award winning and Olympic choreographer, Sarah Kawahara’s, clever, innovative and evocative style, to take the audience on an enchanting journey of their favourite Disney stories. - ILQ News -
