MEEZA, the leading IT services and solutions provider in Qatar today announced the launch of the first Commercial Security Operations Center (SOC) in the country, delivering high-value security services to protect the critical information assets of clients while counteracting the ever-changing threat landscape. Given the looming perils of next generation threats and attacks, an organization’s information assets are more vulnerable than ever before. The launch of MEEZA’s state-of-the art SOC comes at a time when forecasts made by industry experts and analysts indicate an increase in the incidence as well as sophistication of cyber-attacks globally and regionally. In such a scenario, organizations need to prevent any reputational damage and financial losses caused by malicious cyber-attacks. According to MEEZA’s Deputy CEO Mrs. Ghada Philip El Rassi, “The launch of the state-of-the art Security Operations Centre is a long term strategic move to provide world class security services to companies and institutions in Qatar and support their growth by expanding our infrastructure and capabilities and ensure that local threat intelligence data which is collected stays in Qatar. This new initiative also complements our overall efforts in support of Qatar’s growth in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.” In the initial phase, the new SOC which will operate on a 24x7x365 basis to offer end-to-end protection will offer core services such as Universal Log Management, Vulnerability Scanning, in addition to Advanced Security Monitoring and Reporting. There will be a further ramping up of services in the next quarter to offer customers the benefits of Penetration Testing, Cloud Vulnerability Scanning, and Advanced Persistent Threats to create a more effective and advanced IT security framework for clients. These services can be delivered from MEEZA’s M-VAULT data centres or directly at the client’s premises. Added El Rassi, “Organizations today, increasingly face a complex business environment with scarce internal resources in maintaining a robust security environment. Through our new SOC, we can support our customers with an outsourced service that reduces their operational expenditures and allows them to focus on their core business while we handle all their security needs.” The new Security Operations Centre will be backed by a leading Tier I Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) System and Log Management System (LMS). The Centre will also be staffed by a full team of industry-certified security professionals featuring Certified Ethical Hackers (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSP), Certified Hacking and Forensics Investigators (CHFI) in order to proactively monitor and counter attacks for effective mitigation of any possible security threats.
