In this week’s episode of Mama Baba Ganoush, I take a foodie tour of Al Nasr area – a bustling community of cheap eats, famous foodie icons, and a few hidden gems.

If you’re craving a fresh fruity drink, then Vitamin Palace is for you! Inside you’ll find a bright seating area and a menu filled with lots of delicious juices and smoothies at affordable prices. Plus, there’s a hot food section offering a selection of sandwiches and shawarmas prepared right on the spot.

Further down the road is Mashawi Al Arabi Turkish Restaurant where I got to sample their bestselling Washish Chicken – a pizza-style shawarma drizzled with chilli sauce and garlic mayonnaise. This was one of my favourite meals and I can’t wait to head back to try more.

Of course, no trip to Al Nasr would be complete without a pit-stop to two foodie icons – Turkey Central and Thai Snack. These two favourites are famous in the area (and all over Doha!), and I can see why. Both offer deliciously authentic, affordable food that will tantalize those taste-buds!
