Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha and Moving Young Artists have partnered to create a pleasant platform to support local young talents in the pursuit of their musical dreams over the last year. The hotel has organised six 90-minute concerts in its majestic Grand Lobby with the 13 May 2017 being the 1 Year Anniversary Concert.
Moving Young Artists is an inspiring non-profit foundation that reaches out to sponsors, partners, organisations, peers and volunteers in Qatar in order to create opportunities for music to be the motor for individual and collective change and exchange. With a fruitful partnership growing from the past year, Marsa Malaz Kempinski has become the official hospitality sponsor as Moving Young Artists launch the start of their new initiative. Moving the less fortunate and enriching the likes of children’s hospitals, this partnership aims to share the joy of music to all while providing a platform for young talents to learn how to communicate with their musical instruments and talents.
Sonja Park and Joris Laenen, founders of MYA, said: “More than five years ago, music brought us to Qatar. Being professional musicians, we figured that wherever we go, we can make music happen. Music is indeed the guiding force in our lives and we believe it can be for others too, for anyone. In order to make that happen, we founded MYA, supported by a number of like-minded believers who wanted us to get into action. We engage others to share our vision and involve them to join our cause: bringing music to the people who don’t have access to music, guiding and supporting young local talent and developing campaigns where art and culture are tools of expressing one’s self or connecting to the other.”
Wissam Suleiman, General Manager of Marsa Malaz Kempinski, said: “Our hotel is extremely proud to partner with MYA and support the local arts scene and this noble cause through the past series of events, which don’t only embrace the positive qualities of music but also bringing vibrant young energy into our majestic lobby. We have being moved over the past year with incredible talent and look forward being a part of moving many more in the future.”
