A young businessman was burnt to death in a fire that broke out at his office in the Industrial Area yesterday. Muhammed Pharris (34), managing partner of Gurudex Trading, was taking a nap when his office caught fire reportedly after a short circuit. The fire devoured the office before he could escape, a close relative of Pharris told The Peninsula. Though the firefighting team of Civil Defence Authority rushed to the scene, they could not save his life. The body was later shifted to HMC mortuary. Pharris, a native of Trichur in the southern Indian state of Kerala, has been living in Qatar for the past 14 years. He is survived by his wife.
