Social Media channels lit up with news of a man who was arrested for throwing money in the streets. People were led to believe someone was literally throwing money away like some generous pied piper. So we looked into this and it turns out the video a lot of people have seen wasn’t the full story. The viral video that is being circulated on social media showing a man throwing 500 Qatari currency notes on the street was a cropped version. We managed to find the full clip of the video to see what actually happened and here’s the full story:
Two young men were sitting inside a car and teasing each other and suddenly one of them snatched the money and threw out of the car through the window, but soon after it was picked up from the ground.
The Ministry of Interior posted about this incident on Twitter and mentioned that concerned authority will be taking proper action.
