The Court of First Instance heard a case against a citizen accused of defrauding banks and financial institutions of QR900m after making major tenders and contracts in favour of many parties with giant projects in Qatar. The suit was filed against the accused by a major foreign bank, individuals and multi-business firms, for failure to repay the debt, accumulated credits, and bank interests. The accused man’s lawyer said that competent authorities arrested him in an Arab state, denying that he had escaped.
