The majority of companies in Qatar are planning recruitment drives in the coming three months, it has been claimed. According to a survey by jobsite Bayt.com and research organisation YouGov, hiring expectancy is higher than it was in the fourth quarter, with over half (59 per cent) of companies either ‘definitely’ or ‘probably’ making new hires in the coming three months. “Employment trends are relatively similar across the region, with roughly a quarter of Mena companies expecting or considering hiring new employees in the coming months, and in a year’s time,” said Suhail Masri, vice president of sales, Bayt.com. The majority are planning small recruitment drives of up to five people, however, around a third will be looking for between six and ten new employees. In terms of what types of roles companies are looking to fill, computer jobs and managerial roles were the most common. The most desirably skills hirers are looking out for include good communication skills in both English and Arabic, good leadership skills and flexibility. 7days
