A housemaid of an undisclosed nationality has committed suicide by throwing herself out from her sponsor’s moving car in Laqta district, says a report published in the local Arabic daily Al Arab. Quoting the sponsor, the report says that she had been recruited by him through a recruitment agency and several days after settling down in her job she refused to work and wanted to go back. She had even agreed to pay back the expenses incurred on her and had made a phone call to her people in this regard. But suddenly she disappeared soon after midnight. It was with great difficulty that her employer, helped by his neighbours could find her hiding in a spot. He brought her home and remained vigilant on her till the morning and took her to the police. The police directed him to go to the recruitment agency. While he was proceeding in his car to the agency with the maid in the rear seat, he suddenly saw her preparing to throw herself out from the rear window. As he was proceeding on high speed after crossing the roundabout there was not enough time to halt the vehicle and prevent her. In no time she was found thrown on the road side in an unconscious state. After remaining in a coma for six days, she died at the ICU of Hamad Hospital.
